donna palmisano, D.D.S.
Dr. Palmisano received her B.S. in microbiology from Louisiana State University and her D.D.S. from the LSU School of Dentistry in 1990. In the two years following dental school, she participated in the LSU School of Dentistry’s prosthodontic residency program. Ten years later, she taught at the LSU School of Dentistry for five years as a part-time faculty member.
She is a member of the New Orleans Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association (since 1990) and American Academy of Facial Esthetics. She is specially trained in a wide range of treatments, including chemical peels/ cosmeceuticals, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, microneedling, "Botox", Dermal Fillers and Obagi™ systems
A member of the SPEAR Faculty Club and the Crescent City Study Club, branch of the Seattle City Study Club, Dr. Palmisano participates in many more than the required number of continuing education classes per year in order to stay at the forefront of her field. Additionally, she has participated in local peer review committees in the New Orleans area.
Dr. Palmisano has been an active participant in the Donated Dental Services program since 1994. Donated Dental Services offers free dental services to disabled, medically-compromised, or elderly patients who cannot afford services and are not eligible for public aid. Dr. Palmisano has also actively enjoyed and participated in dental missions to Honduras and Ecuador.
Dr. Palmisano is married to Jerry Schmidt, has three children, two daughter-in-laws and 2 granddaughters, and lives in Metairie. In her spare time, she enjoys cake decorating, jewelry making, traveling, and fishing with her family at their Fort Beauregard camp. She is a member of St. Angela Parish.
Janet is a native New Orleanian, a graduate of St. Mary’s Dominica High School, and graduated from the Loyola University School of Dental Hygiene in 1975. With over 41 years of experience, Janet is dedicated to the profession of dental hygiene. She regularly attends continuing education seminars and earned her Anesthesia Certification from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Janet has been married to her high school sweetheart for 40 years, is a mother of three, and grandmother of five.
Marlana has been with Dr. Palmisano since the 1990s. She enjoys being a dental assistant because it affords her a hands-on experience with patients along with giving her the opportunity to comfort them when they are scared. She tries to make every appointment as enjoyable as possible. Marlana is married and has a daughter and one grandchild. She enjoys working out at the gym and socializing with friends and family. She looks forward to welcoming all new patients to the office and helping to take care of their dental needs.
Danielle is a native New Orleanian. She assist patients with scheduling, insurance, and other needs. She is married to her husband Tony for over 20 years. She is a mother of one son, Austin and enjoys shopping and spending time with family.
