What is a prosthodontist?
A prosthodontist is a dentist who specializes in restoring natural teeth and creating and placing natural-looking substitute or prosthetic teeth. Among the wide range of dental services performed by a prosthodontist: the replacement of missing teeth, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants and other advanced technology, and the correction of oral and facial problems such as cleft palate, temporomandibular joint disorder, traumatic injuries, and complex restorations for cancer survivors.

Is Dr. Palmisano accepting new patients?
Yes, Dr. Palmisano is accepting new patients. Call us at (504) 885-2011 to schedule an appointment.
Are you an in-network provider for any insurance company?
Dr. Palmisano is not an in-network provider for any insurance company. However, if you have dental insurance and your plan allows you to go out-of-network, we will be happy to file your insurance for you.
How much does an initial consultation cost?
An initial consultation with Dr. Palmisano costs $125.00. If any x-rays are needed during the consultation, they will be at an additional cost.
How much does a first-time hygiene appointment cost?
A first-time hygiene appointment costs $277.00-$325.00 and includes a full series of x-rays, cleaning, and extensive oral examination. All subsequent hygiene appointments are $144.00.
I am having problems with my dentures/night guard/etc. made by another dentist, can you fix it?
As long as you are not currently seeing another dentist for treatment with the appliance, Dr. Palmisano would be happy to help you gain greater comfort and effectiveness with it.
How much does a crown/filling/implant/bridge/dentures cost?
The prosthetic dental procedures performed by Dr. Palmisano have widely varying costs associated with them. In order to provide you with the most accurate cost estimate, please schedule a consultation. At that point Dr. Palmisano will work with you to determine the best course of treatment and will advise you of related costs.
Do you offer credit or payment plans?
Dr. Palmisano does not offer credit or payment plans. However, we do accept CareCredit. Please visit www.carecredit.com for more information. We also accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
Where are you located? What are your hours?
Our office is located at 2901 N. Causeway Blvd., in Metairie. We are right at the corner of Causeway Blvd. and Kenneth St. We are open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Do you offer sedation dentistry?
Dr. Palmisano does not offer sedation dentistry. However, she is well-known among her patients to calm even those who are the most fearful of dental appointments.
Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?
No, we are not a participating provider of Medicare or Medicaid, therefore they will not cover any benefits through us.
Do you do gold crowns?
Dr. Palmisano does not work with gold on front teeth. She will provide metal crowns on back teeth only when it has been determined that a porcelain crown is not the best treatment option.
